What is “Dabbledoo”?
There is a lot in a name. For us the name “Dabbledoo” invokes memories of childhood and fun. The most memorable times from our childhood were when we sat hours at end making-up words and doing things we love.
Dabbledoo strives to keep things exciting for you and us by constantly updating the content on our sites, unveiling new site designs, launching new blogs, rolling out new features, and entering related ventures. Since we are passionate about passion, Dabbledoo Media allows our bloggers to spend as much time as they like writing about the topics they love, for you to read.
Now you ask, what does “doo” mean? Nothing. What? Yup, it means absolutely nothing. You may ask, how is that? Simple. Doo is a great word to add to the end of Dabble. It makes the word fun and your mouth smile. When you are smiling, you are having fun, and fun is most important when you are working.
The history of Dabbledoo Media?
Philadelphia, PA - Oct. 5, 2009 - The Consumer Technology Publishing Group (CTPG), a division of North American Publishing Company, announced today the completion of its acquisition of Dabbledoo Media sites, Gadgetell.com, Appletell.com, and Gamertell.com.
In 2005 Doug Berger, while at Indiana University, founded Dabbledoo Media as an online t-shirt company. In October of that year, Doug switched gears, from t-shirts to blogs, and launched Dabbledoo Media with Gadgetell.com, an online consumer electronics/technology blog, as an energetic web company that would be a source of information for web savvy people. In November 2005, Adam Berger came on as a writer for Gadgetell and soon became a Dabbledoo partner (though we are not related). Since then the team has launched Appletell.com and Gamertell.com, expanding their reach into consumer electronic niches.
Doug and Adam were also partners with Adam Jacobs in The Final Sprint LLC, a network of health and fitness blogs, from May 2006 through November 2007. In December 2007 Adam and Doug opted to sell Dabbledoo’s share of The Final Sprint LLC, to Adam Jacobs. Selling this business will allow the Dabbledoo team to concentrate on the passion-based categories we believe offer the most promise for Dabbledoo.
